King Kong was Great!

April 7, 2006

Sorry, for the late review. But being in a small town make it not so easy to visit the cinemas. Anyway, I just had a lot hell of fun watching King Kong. That is going to be a-must-have for those movie freaks. The adventure is full of thrillers and breathtaking scenes. The footage were superbly taken. You can feel all the action all around you. Thrilling, blood pumping, makes you seat on the edge of your seat, everything is there. Coming from a director as Peter Jackson, this one is of no surprise one of the best movie in 2005.

Strange, but true, people like to memorizes quotes in movies. And thus, I presents you some quotes that I like from King Kong:

  • Carl Denham: And lo, the beast looked upon the face of beauty. And beauty stayed his hand. And from that day on, he was as one dead. (an Arabian Prophet)
  • Carl Denham: Oh, no, it wasn’t the airplanes; it was beauty killed the beast.
  • Carl Denham: Defeat is always momentary!
  • Hayes: We could not understand because we were too far and could not remember because we were traveling in the night of first ages, of those ages that are gone, leaving hardly a sign – and no memories. The earth seemed unearthly. We are accustomed to look upon the shackled form of a conquered monster, but there – there you could look at a thing monstrous and free.

I’ve been looking at some of the old transcripts for this King Kong movie. Apparently, some changes have been made to the original story line. Especially, in the end of the movie ( I skipped the beginning and the middle part because I’m more interested in the last scene ). It seems that Peter Jackson decided to make it more dramatic and more romantic than the original. In this last iteration of King Kong, the relationship between Kong and the beauty seems much more intense, and it builds up in each other. Towards the end the girl felt so much guilt that she disappears from the spotlight. However, after I compared it with the original transcript, here pictured that the girl isnt really sure about her feeling at all. That bond between her and Kong is still a thing that needs to be confirmed. Well, some changes and adjistments were made to the original script, but towards the end no harm done. It still a great film.
